New: PM Fundamentals — Stakeholder Management
New course just dropped: Project Management Fundamentals — Stakeholder Management. Self-paced, pre-recorded, open enrollment, PDUs included.

Here's the truth most PMP textbooks bury: the single largest predictor of project success outside the team itself is stakeholder management. Not scope. Not schedule. Not even budget. The wrong person quietly forming the wrong expectation in month one of a six-month project is how perfectly-executed projects still fail in month four. This course is how you stop being that PM.
What's in the box
Nine modules covering the full stakeholder discipline:
- Stakeholder Lifecycle Management — how stakeholders enter, evolve, and exit a project
- Identification Strategy — finding everyone before kickoff, including the silent influencers
- Stakeholder Analysis — the four axes (power, interest, urgency, legitimacy) that predict behavior
- Power & Interest Mapping — the 2×2 every PM should know — and the misuses that ruin it
- Engaging skeptical or hostile stakeholders — without playing political games
- Prominence & Salience — the Mitchell-Agle-Wood model, applied
- Engagement Strategies — communication cadence, message tailoring, the engagement plan you'll actually maintain
- Management & Interpersonal Skills — active listening, influence without authority
- Stakeholder KPIs — measuring engagement without turning humans into a dashboard
Who this is for
- PMs and Program Managers running cross-functional projects with 5+ stakeholders
- Tech leads and engineering managers taking on more delivery responsibility
- PMP candidates — the course qualifies for PDUs
- Anyone whose last project blew up because of "alignment issues" (this is the course version of "we should have done stakeholder management better")
What you'll be able to do after
- Identify every stakeholder before kickoff — including the three or four nobody listed
- Map power and interest in 20 minutes flat
- Engage a hostile executive sponsor without escalating to a status call
- Build a stakeholder dashboard your project sponsor actually opens
- Recover gracefully when stakeholder expectations diverge mid-project

Thanks to every PMO lead, executive sponsor, and skeptical-engineer-turned-supporter who taught me what good stakeholder management looks like — usually by demonstrating what bad stakeholder management feels like. The hardest meetings made the best course content. Thank you.
Common stakeholder-management traps the course teaches you to avoid
Treating stakeholder management as a one-time activity at kickoff. Stakeholders change. People move teams. Sponsors get reassigned. The person who approved the project in month one is often not the person you need to convince in month four. The course teaches a quarterly re-mapping discipline — short, fast, but recurring.
Confusing "informed" with "engaged." Sending a stakeholder a status report doesn't mean they're aligned. It means they got an email. The difference matters when you need their buy-in for a scope change. The course covers the difference and how to design comms for each level on the engagement ladder.
Over-engaging the wrong stakeholders. Time spent over-communicating with low-power-low-interest stakeholders is time stolen from the ones who actually move the project. The course walks through the time budget per quadrant — and how to push back when leadership asks you to "loop in" everyone.
Mistaking polite agreement for actual support. Stakeholders in formal meetings often nod along even when they disagree. The real signal comes from what happens between meetings — do they advocate for your project in their own forums? Do they answer your Slack messages? The course teaches the four behavioral tells of real support vs polite tolerance.
Forgetting that stakeholders talk to each other. Conflicting messages to different stakeholders catch up with you. The course teaches building a single source of truth ("here's what the project is, in 3 paragraphs") that every stakeholder hears the same way.
The single quickest engagement boost the course teaches
Stop sending stakeholders status reports. Start sending stakeholders one-question prompts in their preferred channel. "Quick question — does the latest scope draft fit the integration window your team owns?" lands very differently from a 12-page deck. The reply rate jumps from 10% to 70%. The course walks the templates by stakeholder type — exec sponsor, peer team lead, contractor, regulator — in module 7.
